Challenges of Big Data Analysis
Big Data bring new opportunities to modern society and challenges to data
scientists. On one hand, Big Data hold great promises for discovering subtle
population patterns and heterogeneities that are not possible with small-scale
data. On the other hand, the massive sample size and high dimensionality of Big
Data introduce unique computational and statistical challenges, including
scalability and storage bottleneck, noise accumulation, spurious correlation,
incidental endogeneity, and measurement errors. These challenges are
distinguished and require new computational and statistical paradigm. This
article give overviews on the salient features of Big Data and how these
features impact on paradigm change on statistical and computational methods as
well as computing architectures. We also provide various new perspectives on
the Big Data analysis and computation. In particular, we emphasis on the
viability of the sparsest solution in high-confidence set and point out that
exogeneous assumptions in most statistical methods for Big Data can not be
validated due to incidental endogeneity. They can lead to wrong statistical
inferences and consequently wrong scientific conclusions
On the Value of Criminal Jurisprudence of Personality
Personalization of criminal law is a criminal legal system which is constructed by taking personality traits of the perpetrator as organic component of criminal motivation and criminal behavior, being a call in the crisis of contemporary criminal law and an inevitable presentation of trend evolution of criminal law. The establishment of criminal law in personality on the basis of criminal personality theory represents progress of rationality of human criminal law, and it is also a joint strategy that crime science is combined with personality psychology and criminal psychology to face criminal phenomenon. The theory of personality psychology and personality test paradigm play the role of theoretical cornerstone in establishment and development of criminal law system in personality, while the personalization of criminal law which is characterized with modern jurisprudential philosophy, personality theory and technical advancement shows its value in the whole process of conviction, sentencing and execution transformation in criminal justice, and various representative personality test paradigms and technologies will play important roles in the process of personalization of criminal law
Analyses on Criminal Personality and Its Typical Category
Criminal personality is a physical and psychological organization system with unified antisocial psychological characteristics and behavioral tendencies, a summation of antisocial psychological characteristics possessed by perpetrators or potential perpetrators, and a kind of antisocial personality seriously deviated from the norms. It can be clearly divided into normal criminal personality and abnormal criminal personality. Psychoanalysis, cognitive school, behaviorism, āBig Fiveā theory of personality and cognitive-affective theory have different points of view on its core components and formation mechanism, and have different application strategies and techniques for combating and preventing crime and correcting judicial practice of perpetrators
An Interpretation of Behavioral Traits of Criminal Motivation
The criminal motivation acquisition is a characteristic of behavioral and environmental factors in the process of criminal motivation, and one of organic components in the structure of criminal motivation. The discussion of behavior traits of criminal motivation includes three aspects: behavioral factors, mechanisms and components. The basic constitutional dimensions and factors are derived from classical conditioning, operant conditioning and observational learning (social learning) and frustration reaction, which are embodied in criminal inducement, criminal object, criminal habit and other specific components of criminal motivation through reinforcement, punishment and self-reinforcement and other formation mechanisms
A Review of Applied Techniques of the Detection of Criminal Deceit
The techniques of the detection of criminal deceit, including lie-detection technique and true-detection technique, are involved in determination and evaluation of response to specific information in the guilt knowledge. Under the support of a theory of emotion, a theory of control, a theory of cognitive processing and a theory of self-expression in the contemporary applied psychology and judicial psychology, this technique system has developed a psychophysiological technique, a non-verbal technique, a verbal technique, a brain scanning technique and a strategic use of evidence etc. Based on different aspects of deceit psychology, the techniques of the detection are explored from different mechanisms. With the support of judicial experience, and foundation from the empirical researches on physiology-psychology, cerebral nerve and other aspects, the techniques have validity and reliability at a different level.
